Photographing Jewelry: Inexpensive Lightbox

Get a cardboard box with one side of the box cut away. Use a pen knife to cut out a rectangle "hole" on the top and both sides of the box. Stretch a thin white cloth over the top and tape it to the box. Since I use only one light source which is from the top, I covered the "holes" at the sides with photostating paper. If you have lamps to light both sides of the box, cover the "holes" on the sides with the thin white cloth too, as it let in more light and diffuse light better. The photo on the right is a close up of the ring in the lightbox.
