I was shopping in Suntec over the weekend and came across a wishing sphere station where you can pen your wishes for the New year on the wishing sphere. The wishing spheres are then floated on the Marina bay.

Little Maneki Neko in a red ninja suit :) I use a sandwich box to store my camera, and I wanted to shoot this kitty without having to drag out my lightbox. So I use my sandwich box turn it sideways, hold it up beneath the desklamp and photographed it. The light source is from the top and the light is diffused as it shines through the translucent side of the sandwich box.

Finally found a shop that sells this little maneki bells (not a lot in stock though) and I bought a few of them and use them to make cell phone or bag charm. The luck beckoning Cats of Japan is a little metal bell and I made a forged brass wire design and added a brass "made with love" charm and red lanyard. The word on the cat tummy means "10 million tael (ancient counter for Chinese/ Japanese money)"

Made this small purse with ume plum flowers printed fabric. The zipper is covered at the sides and the zipper opening is about 7cm in length. The exterior fabric is cotton imported from Japan and I added iron-on interfacing to the fabric. The internal lining fabric is cotton cloth .Size: 10cm x 10cm

White Bunnies zipper purse id1130908
Went shopping the other day and saw some pretty Japan imported fabrics. I used my late grandfather's Singer sewing machine to make the little purse. Yup, one of those human powered "pedal like crazy" treadle sewing machine. One of these days, I will take a photo of the machine and upload it here. :) I can solder pendants, cut glass blah blah blah blah but using the sewing machine drives me bonkers. The threads kept breaking halfway, so I went online to see if there are any resources on "how to sew using an antique machine without loosing one's sanity". No solution yet......

Attack of the Butterfly

See the tiny little butterfly? I saw it sunbathing on the leaves and thought finally a subject that is NOT fluttering all over the place. Guess I spend too much time getting too close to it cos' it actually tried to attack my camera twice.
